At Stellar Child Care Organization (SCCO), we are committed to fostering education, community, and stability for the children and families in Andong. Our programs reflect our mission to empower the next generation and break the cycle of poverty.
Stellar Education
Education is the foundation of a brighter future. Through Stellar Education, we supplement the public education system with quality programs tailored to meet the needs of Andong’s children. Each day, over 150 students aged four and up join our classes to enhance literacy, technical skills, and life skills, building the groundwork for lifelong learning and success.
Our offerings include:
- Pre-School and Kindergarten Classes: Early literacy programs in a safe, engaging environment.
- English and Computer Classes: Equipping children with essential modern skills.
- After-School and Weekend Programs: Supporting academic growth and personal development.
- Scholarships for Higher Education: Providing financial support for vocational training and university studies since 2018.
We also host monthly child events to teach vital life skills while fostering a sense of community. Our well-equipped library serves as a hub for learning and exploration, providing children with resources to succeed. To ensure every child is prepared for school, we supply essentials such as uniforms and supplies.
By partnering with Kork Rokar Primary School and Chhouk Va High School, we track students’ progress, advocate for better learning environments, and actively support teacher training and capacity-building efforts to strengthen education in the region.
Stellar Community
A thriving community is essential for children’s success, and through Stellar Community, we empower Andong families to build stable, self-reliant futures.
We address immediate needs while equipping families with tools for long-term independence. This includes:
- Direct Support: Housing aid, food, and medical care for urgent needs.
- Counseling: Addressing both mental and physical well-being.
- Microcredits: Small business loans empowering families to improve livelihoods.
- Parent Meetings: Engaging families in the importance of education and fostering supportive home environments.
- Youth Groups: Encouraging personal growth and community development.
With a dedicated social worker monitoring the needs of each family, we are proud to see Andong transforming into a community that values education and self-sufficiency.
Reintegration
From 2012 to 2018, SCCO operated a residential care facility for at-risk children, offering safety, education, and care. Our ultimate goal was to reunite these children with stable families, and by 2018, we achieved this, successfully reintegrating them into their extended families and communities.
Today, we continue to support these children as they thrive, offering assistance where needed through financial aid, coaching, and mentoring. Many have graduated high school and are pursuing higher education or vocational training, while others are finishing their studies with our continued guidance.
Our reintegration program demonstrates our belief in sustainable, family-centered solutions. By empowering families to provide stable homes, we give children the opportunity to succeed in their education and future careers, while contributing to their communities.
