Our organization
Stellar Child Care Organization (SCCO) was founded in 2012 and is registered with the Ministry of Interior. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in Andong by empowering the next generation to flourish through education, community care, and sustainable support systems.
From 2012 to 2018, we operated a residential care center for children at risk. During this period, we worked closely with the Ministry of Social Affairs under a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Since 2015, our focus has shifted to education and community care programs in Andong, serving children and families with comprehensive support. Today, we collaborate with the Ministry of Education under an MOU to deliver supplemental educational programs that enhance inclusive access to quality learning opportunities.
What guides our work
At SCCO, our work is driven by a deep commitment to creating lasting change in the Andong community, with education at the heart of our approach. We believe education is a transformative force, providing children and families with the tools to envision brighter futures and the skills necessary to build sustainable careers. By focusing on education alongside community resilience, we work directly with families to create support systems and collaborative solutions that lead to lasting change.
We are dedicated to offering children opportunities to learn, grow, and gain valuable experiences that will empower them to improve their lives. Our programs foster a sense of community, creating a safe space where children can connect, thrive, and develop the skills needed for a successful future. Accessibility is central to our mission, and we ensure that education and extracurricular activities are inclusive and affordable, even for the most vulnerable families.
Trust is the foundation of our relationships within Andong. Our dedicated team, including teachers and social workers, maintain close relationships with local families and ensure SCCO is a trusted and approachable resource. Above all, we focus on empowerment—helping children and families build the confidence and self-reliance necessary to transform their lives and communities. By creating a space for exploration, learning, and growth, we enable children to realize their full potential and become active contributors to their families and society.
